Privacy Policy

At a glance

• The app does not show ads or use analytics or advertising trackers.
• You can use the app entirely on-device. Cloud sync is optional and uses a Supabase project chosen and controlled by your household.
• The developer does not operate a central Household Organizer user database or receive your household inventory as part of the app.

Information the app handles

The app handles the information you enter to make its features work. This can include freezer-location names; meal and recipe names; ingredient lists; cooking, preparation, and storage instructions; dates; portion counts; product barcodes; brand names; notes, ratings, tags; recipe, video, and image links; and QR-code identifiers.

The app also keeps configuration information needed for optional cloud sync, such as a Supabase project URL, anonymous API key, household identifier, and household join code. It does not require you to create a Household Organizer account or provide a name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, payment information, or health information.

Where information is stored

On your device

Inventory, recipes, settings, and offline changes are stored locally on your device so the app can work without cloud sync. If you take or choose a meal or recipe photo, the app uses it only for the record you create. The app does not upload the image file to Supabase.

Optional cloud sync

If you choose to enable cloud sync, the inventory and recipe details described above are sent to and stored in the Supabase project that you or another member of your household configure. Changes can be synchronized in real time with devices that join that household. The project is selected through your own Supabase account; it is not a developer-operated shared Household Organizer service.

Anyone with a household invite can access that household’s shared data. An invite QR code includes the cloud-project connection details and household join code needed to connect, so share it only with people you trust.

Device permissions

Camera

Used only when you choose to scan a QR invite or meal label, or take a photo for a meal or recipe. Camera images and QR scans are processed on your device by the app.

Photos and media

Used only when you choose a photo from your device for a meal or recipe. You can decline permission and continue using the app.

Audio

The app does not record, store, or transmit audio.

Optional third-party requests

The app makes the following requests only when you use the relevant feature. Those services may receive your IP address and standard connection information under their own privacy policies.

• Supabase: Hosts optional cloud-sync data in the project selected by your household. If you use the setup flow, a Supabase personal access token is used only in memory to create or configure your project. The app does not save or log that token, and it does not save a database password.
• Recipe and video sources: When you ask the app to import a recipe or video link, it requests that link to retrieve public recipe metadata. For some links, the app may use TikTok or YouTube oEmbed, the Internet Archive, or Microlink as a fallback to retrieve public page or image information.
• Open Food Facts: When you look up a barcode, the barcode is sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve public product details.
• External links: When you open a saved recipe or video, your browser or the destination app handles that visit under its own privacy policy.

How information is used and shared

Information is used only to provide inventory management, recipe organization, label creation, QR scanning, optional lookups, and household synchronization. The app does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers. Household data is shared with the members you invite when cloud sync is enabled.

Your choices, deletion, and security

You can use local-only mode, decline optional permissions, avoid optional lookups, and disable cloud sync. You can delete individual inventory and recipe records in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device; cloud-synced data remains in the household’s Supabase project until it is deleted there. Because your household controls that project, you can delete the project or its data through your Supabase account.

The app uses the security controls provided by your device and, when enabled, by your Supabase project. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so protect your device, Supabase account, and household invite codes.

Children’s privacy

Household Organizer is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the app’s data practices change. The updated version will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
